Bipolar Disorder (BD)
What is Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder is a complex, lifelong condition characterized by episodes of depression cycling between periods of mania (BD I), hypomania (BD II), and euthymia. BD I is characterized by manic episodes, whereas individuals with BD II experience hypomania. While similar, mania is generally more severe and is sometimes associated with psychosis, requiring acute hospitalization.
Treatment consists of:

- Psychotherapy and Psychosocial Interventions.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT)
- Family Focused Therapy, Peer Support, and Psychoeducation
